1. Souq Al-Mubarakeya
It’s a traditional market located in Kuwait city. It was countries one of the most important trade centres and has been around for 200 years. You can spend your day roaming around the market and experience the culture and tradition of the country. You can buy heritage goods like Persian silk, antiques, carpets, perfumes at a reasonable price.
If you are a foodie, you shouldn’t miss it. The market is full of various delicious foods. Here you can experience the taste of Kuwait by trying all the local foods.

It is located between Abdullah Al-Mubarak, Abdullah Al Salem and Palestine street. You can visit here by bus or a taxi.
You can visit here from 9 am to 9 pm, seven days a week. The market looks beautiful at night times.
2. The Grand Mosque Of Kuwait
The grand mosque is the largest mosque of Kuwait. It was built in 1986 and known as the official mosque of the country. The mosque is one of the eighth largest in the world and known for its fascinating architecture. With intricate stonework, marvel walls and crystal chandeliers the mosque is an actual price of a masterpiece. The mosque is only used in religious celebrations.

The mosque is in the centre of Kuwait city.

You can easily visit here by bus or taxi.
You can take a tour of the mosque in the visiting hours.
- Monday – Friday 9 am to 10.30 am and 5 pm to 7 pm.
- No tours during the Holy Month of Ramadan
The mosque is the place of worship, and proper dress code must be maintained all the time. My recommendation is to wear long loose clothing.
3. Green Island
Green Island is the best place for a picnic with your family. It’s an artificial island located on the coast of Kuwait. It is surrounded by natural rocks, blue sea, and so many trees; you would not feel you are in a desert country. You can enjoy the swimming pool, theatre, castles and many more sports on the green island.

The entry fee is 1.5 KD per person.
Green island is open from 8 am to 11 pm every day.
4. Kuwait National Museum
If you are visiting abord, you should not leave without visiting its museum. There is no better way to know a countries history and culture. Kuwait National Museum is a fantastic place where you can experience Arabian history and tradition, along with remarkable architecture.

5. Liberation Tower

6. Al Shaheed Park
It is the largest urban park in Kuwait. It’s full of cutting edge architecture and arts. You can enjoy a relaxing time in a clean environment. The park also has two museums. Those museums are also an exciting place to visit.

The park is open for seven days a week 5 am to 12 am. The entry is free, but if you want to enjoy games, then you have to pay.
7. Sheikh Jaber Al-Ahamed Cultural Centre
It’s the largest cultural centre and opera centre of the Middle East. It’s also known as Kuwait Opera centre. You can enjoy music, film and theatre events here. It’s a platform for exchanging education and culture. It has four buildings and much inspired by Islamic Architecture. It’s the best place to if you want to experience the fascinating Arabian culture.

8. Kuwait Zoo
Kuwait Zoo is another visit-worthy place in Kuwait, especially if you are interested in animals or you have kids. The zoo is full of various amazing birds and animals in a beautiful environment.

The zoo is located in Omariya, Route 55. It’s after 5th Ring road, towards Farwaniya
In winter, the zoo will be open at 8 am and closes at 8 pm.
In summer, 8 am to 12 noon and 4 pm to 8 pm.
In the holy month of Ramadan, the zoo closes half an hour before sunset.
